Power Up Your Life | Powered by GoBundance | What Your Face Is Secretly Telling You About Your Health: Natural Facelifts, Energy Medicine & Aging Differently with Cathy Goldstein, AP

Welcome to Power Up Your Life, Powered by GoBundance Women!

💫 What does it mean to truly care for yourself from the inside out? 💫

In this episode, Kelly Resendez and Mandy McAllister sit down with Cathy Goldstein AP, a pioneer in functional aesthetics and creator of the Tru Energy Natural Facelift System. Cathy shares how her personal health journey led her into acupuncture, energy medicine, and a completely different way of thinking about aging, beauty, and the stories we carry in our faces.

With nearly four decades of experience in holistic medicine, Cathy explains why the face is more than skin deep. She talks about how stress, emotion, and life experience show up physically in the face, and why so many women reach a point where they feel pressure to choose between “aging naturally” and cosmetic intervention. Cathy offers a different perspective—one rooted in healing, fascia, frequency, self-awareness, and vitality.

The conversation explores confidence, self-image, women in leadership, and how the face becomes part of our communication in the world. Kathy also explains how she built her skincare and facelift system to support both physical appearance and emotional well-being, giving women another path beyond fillers and Botox.

Listeners will walk away with practical strategies for self-awareness, personal vitality, and a refreshing perspective on aging as a process of expansion rather than decline.

    And I'm Mandy McAllister.

  3. Kelly

And we are honored to have a dear friend of mine, Kelly Goldstein, in the house. How are you today?

  4. Excellent

I'm excellent. Excited to be here. Thank you for inviting me. Awesome. Well, before we dig in, tell us a little bit about your story and what you do. So what I my favorite topic is, is women and women actually in power positions. And what I wanna talk about today actually really did come from my own story, which, you know, a lot of us have that experience, and that's what I really appreciate about the group of women that you interview and that both of y'all and how we work is is that our own personal experiences are what totally drives us. So for me, I have been a practicing acupuncture physician for about forty years. And when I first started working, I had gotten into alternative health care from allopathic medicine because of my, my own illness. And that illness, you know, I almost died. It was really significant. But what happened is, is that when I moved into acupuncture, I realized that that saved my life. I knew that that was my trajectory. So over the years, because of how I got into the alternative care, energy medicine, things like that, I found that most of the patients I was working with really had complex health challenges. And so my focus had all were all, you know, had always been like restoring function, helping, you know, the body increase its communication, its Up, and teaching it how to heal itself. Right. So I worked a lot with, you know, obviously the acupuncture, but energy medicine as well as the emotions. And so because what how what I always say is is the issues are in the tissues. They always show up. So, but what happened was at about forty nine, I inadvertently caught myself in the mirror Mandy what I saw stopped me in my tracks. I had no idea that all of the all of the health issues, all of the emotional issues, everything that I had gone through in my life, I was still wearing on my face. And even though I felt really great and I was doing all the things, you know, that I tell my patients to do, eating well, exercising, you know, meditating, like living that that healthy vibrant Life. Somehow there was a disconnect. And in that moment at 49, I think I hit kind of that same level that a lot of women, you know, often stop at that moment and say, what do I need to do? Do I need to lotions, potions, you know, creams, things like that? Do I actually need to do Botox? And I'm in alternative health care, and I'm like, no, I really can't go that route. But I understood why women got to that point where they were thinking, how do I keep up? And so in this journey that I had in my curiosity, because I, you know, in alternative medicine, I'm Life, you know, I'm a visionary Mandy putting things together. Really my challenge was, is, is how do I treat the face in the same way that I was treating the body? And it was looking at the skin, not just skin, but as a system, like an entire body system, which it is. So my direction totally changed in how I was communicating and talking especially to women because our culture has a very different story Mandy Power what's Life trending what we need to do. If we are, you know, a new divorced woman, what do we need to do? Oh, smooth the wrinkles. Right? Get Botox, get fillers. And I'm saying, no. Let's have a different conversation as to what our face is actually telling us. So that kind of navigated a whole different conversation. That's really not talked about.

  5. Kelly

Yeah. And I love your skincare. So thank you. My daughter does as well. So thank you for just bringing that into the world and giving people an alternative. So I wanna kinda dig into, like, why it even matters when you think about your wrinkles and looking in in the mirror and our confidence being affected. Right? Like, how do you see this being really, you know, important to women to taking care of themselves?

  6. Excellent

Yeah. So you nailed the conversation on the head here for me in, like, why does this make a difference? And there's there's this is the thing, especially, you know, power Women, empower situations, and empower environments. This is our calling card, and it's our communication. Right? You walk into a room, you pick up the vibe of the person who is the CEO. You pick up the the person who you need to make sure that you're getting agreement from. Right? And, and then the other is is you're also navigating, like, you're if you're pitching, you're navigating everybody in the room to know, are you tracking? Are you not tracking? Was there a question right there? And the reason why we do that is because we have microexpressions that connect to micro neurons that go back into our emotional brain, our limbic brain, and they tell us what we're seeing. So unlike the other way around where you, we think we're just mirroring other people's emotions because we're empathetic, It doesn't work like that. What it is is that we read people through those micro neurons and those micro expressions. So I have to make that micro expression to understand what you're feeling, thinking, talking about, who you who you are, and then I can project back to you. So the conversation is very, very different in why it is so important for us to maintain our entire vitality of ourselves and not to freeze the muscles, but to release them because there's no doubt we do carry a lot of stuff on our face. These are the muscles that are the heavy lifting on our body, but these are the muscles of emotions. So being able to learn how to release those emotions through those stagnant muscles and the fascia that's like twisting around them is very, very important to really create, create that vitality.

  7. Mandy

Yeah. Well, I mean, on your calling card of your face and, you know, in your life in general. Right? Like, the I think so many high performing women Mandy the majority of our listeners are, you know, female leaders or entrepreneurs or investors. Right? So we endure a lot of stress. And I'll know I'll tell you what, my body does keep the Your, and the RBF definitely shows up on occasion. So I'm I'm curious, you know, we're we're all about the actionable advice here. And, you know, I love this idea of natural face lift. What what is maybe, you know, for for a woman who isn't yet seeing this extra face that I feel like I'm seeing, her Mandy then the the woman who is, like, maybe in her sixties. What's an actionable thing someone in her forties and someone in her sixties could do? Yeah. So, actionable thing someone in her forties and someone in her sixties could do? Yeah. So,

  8. Excellent

honestly, I'm gonna step it back one step, which is how do we look at ourselves when we look in the mirror? Mhmm. Because I think that's really an important question when you're talking about exactly where you are. When we wake up in the morning and we look in our mirror, the first thing we do is criticize ourselves. You know, this is puffy. This is hanging. If I go like this and pull up right here, that would be perfect. Right? I mean, admit it, right? Who hasn't done that? Lift up the, you know, right up on the cheek and lift up that jawline. Right? Yeah, Kelly. Right. So what I invite women to do, no matter what age is to Women you look in the mirror, look at yourself a little bit differently. What is my face trying to communicate to me in what it needs? Right. So, so whether you're, you know, 30 postpartum Your post menopause, you know, sixties, seventies, that there's, there's a very similar conversation in what the muscles of the face are actually telling us where we're, where we're tightening, where we're dragging. It's never too soon to look at those areas because we go through traumas through our entire life. Right? And sometimes there's just how we hold stress. Maybe it's not even a trauma. It's just how we hold stress. Occasionally, and I think this is actually a good tool as Kelly, is is I'll tell women in my webinars, just put up a mirror above your above your where you're where you're working and periodically just glance up in the mirror to see where you're holding tension because inadvertently, like you're squishing your eyebrows together or you're frowning. And these are one these are this is like awareness. I can relax and probably get more done. And I think that's what y'all talk about when you're in your element, when you're your most vital, you know, version of yourself, you're way more productive. So holding on to stressors in your face is just communicating to your brain. I'm under stress. I'm under stress. I'm under stress. Right. But if we can learn to relax those areas in this process of just being your authentic self, then you show up differently not only to yourself, but to others.

You know, within the first two months of me being a member, I enrolled someone to help them with their high ticket sales. 12. Mandy

That's why you owe it to yourself to check out goabundancewomen.com.

  13. Kelly

That's so powerful. So, Kathy, you've created a whole line that supports women that gives them an alternative to, like you said, the fillers and other things. Like, tell us a little bit about that business journey because you saw a problem, and a lot of people see problems. Right? But they don't start businesses around them. What did that journey look like?

  14. Excellent

Yes. Yeah. Well, so in my, let, Your know, when I had mentioned at 49, I inadvertently caught myself in the mirror. I was not happy with what I saw. So a little bit was, you know, on the selfish side. Right? How can I manage this without doing, you know, all the things that are the pressure of our society? And, it was going back to that drawing board and realizing that I am doing something very different in my office that I can take those tools and put them together to create actually a skincare as well as a natural facelift system. So in the, in the process of that, I'm looking at not just skin and skin tone, right? That's skincare, if you will. But I'm also looking at the muscles that are contracted, the areas where we're holding tension. All of the things that we call aging are not truly aging. They're just holding tension. So what I did was I put together a couple of different aspects. One is I knew I needed a protocol and, like, what's the best way to, you know, manage all of that emotions and all those the muscles and the fascia that's contracted around those different areas. And the other is how can I utilize what I do in my practice in a way that really is meaningful? So energy medicine is really kind of my my secret sauce, if you will, in what I do in my practice that's often different than a lot of people who just do acupuncture. I mean, acupuncture is amazing in itself, but I just went deep into subtle energy fields, energy. Like, I use we have what's called an integration room in our in our clinic, which means after you get a treatment, you go into a room and you integrate, you know, light frequency, sound frequency, crystal frequency, biophoton frequency, sound frequency. So we have all of these different frequency options to be able to help the nervous system to vibrate at the frequency of a healthy nervous system, a healthy cell, a healthy acupuncture meridians. It's it's the ultimate in in retraining, retuning your body to actually perform how it's supposed to perform. And that's what we do Life on the big picture of of health and wellness. I took that same philosophy and put it into a natural facelift system as well as the skincare. So every single one of my jars has a little green bead or blue bead in every jar that's imprinted with, frequencies that are reeducating your nervous system, your your acupuncture meridians, your subtle energy field to vibrate at healthy and optimize the, active ingredients, the Up ingredients that are in the skin care. The other is I have tools. One of the tools for the face lift is a wand and the wand, is, also imprinted with frequencies, increasing collagen production, you know, releasing the, the fascia, the lymphatics, moving the lymphatic system, which is really key. And, and then, you know, we're touching tons of acupuncture points on our face while we're doing that specific protocol. So I put it with a third party study, Doctor. Kelly say, and had amazing results, which, of course, for me, I I wanna know, you know, is this gonna work if I put it in people's hands if they're at home? Right? Are they gonna get the same results? So for me, that was really valuable and important, and it was the results were amazing. Mandy he actually Yeah. Called me after fifteen days and was Life, these women look like they've had Mandy face lifts. How is this happening? I was like and he didn't know anything about the frequency because I didn't even go there. So but that was validating for me. You know, it's what it took for me to go Yeah. Alright. I I'm going public. You know? It's so great when the science supports it. You know, the idea gets proven and underlined. And I think so much of adulthood and, like, moving into being a high performer is the unlearning,

  15. Mandy

not the learning new stuff, the unlearning. And it's it's interesting that you're talking about the the unlearning of the body too. You mentioned energy medicine as your, you know, your jam. Right? Life, that's really your thing. Can you maybe just say a little more on that for someone who might not know what that means?

  16. Excellent

Okay. Yeah. So, ultimately, on a like, everything has a frequency. Everything has a vibrational energy that makes it what it is. Right? So, you know, the desk is the desk because of its vibrational frequency, and that goes all the way down to the cells. The the higher level of communication in what our body is doing is definitely more on an energy basis. It's the communication between the cells that make up why our body is so amazing at just surviving, healing, you know, fixing itself. And I do believe that our body has this innate intelligence to be able to do that. A lot of times people are looking at, like, the the physical nervous system or what I call, you know, the liquid nervous system, but there's a biophoton nervous system as well. And that biophoton nervous system is that communication between what we do on the outside world, what happens on the inside world, and how well our cells communicate to be able to thrive.

  17. Kelly

There's a lot of levels right there, but yeah. Yeah. Well, you're speaking my jam. You know, one of my books coming out, it's called the the frequency of GoBundance, And I truly believe that the energy that we show up with, and I think that embodiment of confidence and worthiness, you know, society has taught us is is often physical in nature. And so I don't ever shy away. I saw a post the other day that said women that wear makeup are a lot more successful than women that don't. Like, we can't argue with the way that people perceive us, but I think also, you know, this confidence is important. So I'm gonna switch gears a little bit and and put on your you're a business leader. You've gotten this product out into the market. You know, I've met you through different events, one at the w that we both spoke at, one at an Oscar event. Like, you definitely are a businesswoman at the same time that you're an energy healer. Right? What are some of the strategies

  18. Excellent

that you really have adopted to scale your company that would make the biggest difference because getting a product to market is different than a service. Right? Yep. True. Yeah. So so on there's two, you know, two answers to that question. Right? There's the what does it take on, like, physically making that happen? And I think that that's, you know, it's it's that that perseverance never giving up questioning yourself within this is a good question is, am I solving a problem? And there's many times where Life, okay, that didn't work. I just got I mean, I I have been I've I've started True Energy in in 02/2009. And, I got shelved by multiple companies, while they like, so they locked me in and, shelved me so that I couldn't build that business because they thought Your what for whatever reason, companies do that. And so every time I asked myself, you know, am I solving a problem? Does this solve a problem? The answer was always, yes, it does. And then I'm like, keep going, keep going. And I didn't know. I mean, all the things I talk about now are not the things that I was talking about then. That was that that, you know, all the things that evolve around what, around the culture that I'm, you know, a voice in is been something that's really solidified over the last, you know, fifteen years. So, you know, we don't have to know everything going into it. It will evolve as long as you're sticking with what you are true to in your heart that, you know, this is good. This helps, this helps Women. This helps people and, you know, sticking with it. So that's one aspect. The other Mandy then, you know, of course, resources find your resources to be able to actually get that physical product. The other at one point, I had kept going to marketing companies and marketing companies, and nobody was marketing it in a way that I was like, no, that's not gonna work. No, that's not gonna work. And it didn't work. Finally, you know, like in 2019, I'm like, I'm marketing this myself. I can at least speak to, you know, what's going on here. Why does this work? It's, you know, because it was my product. So I definitely found that was a really good shift Mandy, you know, just being my own representation of my own product. And then the other is the is is the, you know, just knowing that the energy that I was putting in came from a source of drive and commitment that time was not of an issue. It just was what it was. Their universe always works in our favor. It'll land when it lands. I'll connect when I connect. It'll happen.

  19. Mandy

Beautiful. I I think when you set that north star as the thing that you're running after, just the the decisions on how to get there gets so more clear and that willingness to pivot as you go. I I completely echo that. You know? Let's keep that business owner hat on for for another question here. One thing that matters a lot to, Sid, this podcast Mandy and me as an entrepreneur is you you might go from work where you have a bunch of colleagues Mandy then as an entrepreneur, you're the one at the top at at the top and you're alone. And I sit in this basement hoping, oh my god. Will this work? Right? And so I'm very curious. When you feel stuck or when you don't have clarity on what to do with your business, what are some actionable things that you do to get yourself to clarity?

  20. Excellent

That's a, an interesting question because it probably depends on what how I'm what resources I'm gonna use. Right? So, you know, like, I might call Kelly. Hey, Kelly. Yeah. Let's chat. You know? Let's chat about, like, you know, where I'm feeling stagnated. Your know? And and mostly in just kind of, like, finding, you know, a person who is doing what you're doing, done what you've done, been where you've been. And even if they even if it's over and over and over again, because, you know, women of power don't stop at one success. They just keep going. Right? So, you know, Kelly might be in a different place than I am and vice versa where, you know, just finding somebody who you can coordinate with and have a conversation with is all, is always key Your myself in, in a lot of occasions, as well as I'm a visionary. And so for me to make sure that I take time out of the day, because we usually like to, like, get up and go, I need time to think and Mandy envision. You know? Where do I see this going? And those are things that solidify for me is, you know, is is where do I see that? Like my beat my business to business and going into spas. You know, how do I see that? And I immediately will start developing a visual scenario of how I see that. Okay. Well, I'm going to go in and I'm going to do trainings Your their aestheticians Mandy then we're have a certification. They'll understand the price. So I, that's how my brain works is in that, but in a vision. So taking time to do that is clutch for me because it creates clarity.

  21. Kelly

So good. So just final question here. What's something unconventional that you believe or do that people listening might wanna consider?

  22. Excellent

Right. So, so for starters, I am unconventional. So, yeah, something unconventional. Well, you know, one of the things that I did mention is, is, you know, I chow I challenge you to get up in the morning and look at your face differently. Look at your face in a way that is actually communication to you. What are you seeing? What is it communicating? So rather than judge it, have some empathy, you know, have some grace for yourself and, and, you know, give your, give your, give your body some space. Give your give yourself some space to to love on yourself and, you know, really empower yourself in that way. I love it.

  23. Mandy

You know, Kelly, that might be my favorite thing that Kelly has left us with that I'm gonna take home. Like, I'm I'm using it as information. It's that same reframe at so much, like, failure that that we use in our our business lives. Like, I'm going to use what's happening in my face as information

  24. Kelly

moving forward. Kelly, what was your favorite thing? Yeah. I mean, the issue is in your tissue is definitely important. You know, I do believe it's an inside out job Mandy that, you know, we have to fine tune our energy. And I think the other thing is just that we have an alternative to, you know, some of the products that are on the market today in order to be able to preserve our facial expressions. So, Kathy, you have been a phenomenal guest Mandy one of the things that's important to us is that we are supportive of you. So is there a resource connection in a way for our listeners to, to learn more about what you offer?

  25. Excellent

Yeah. Well, I, I really appreciate that. I think that that's, you know, about Women holding each other up, which is what we should do is hold each other up. And so one of them is just, just talking about this culture, you know, that this culture of vitality, resilience, what aging really is, it's not a deterioration and it's an expansion. And then the other is is just, you know, the stages to speak from, whether it's, you know, a podcast, an interview, speaking from the stage in women's groups, that is it's because every every place I've spoken, I always hear I've never heard that angle before. This Mandy no one talks about this. And that's what I want. I want I wanna talk about it. I want other people to talk about it. I want it to that's the culture that I would love to see created in this process.

  26. Kelly

I love it. And how do we find you?

  27. Excellent

So, my so I have the tru energy website, which is trueenergyskincare.com, which is tru, energyskincare.com. And the other is is, kathygolstein.com as well. And that's more, you know, more my speaking information kind of platform.
